ENGLISH-BASED CAREER ORIENTATION SEMINAR FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

The seminar involves the presentation of the overview of Japanese job-hunting process for international students of Doshisha University Kyotanabe campus. The overview involves guidelines on how to choose a suitable company as a preparation for the job-hunting process. The seminar will also aim to discuss some company information that would be helpful for the students, especially those with specialized fields. There will also be points regarding the job hunting requirements such as SPI and entry sheet. The seminar will be mostly in a question and answer (Q&A) or discussion format, where the students will be freely communicating with the speaker to ask points not covered but are essential to the topic of job-hunting. Japanese company information will be given a brief outline to better understand the situation of job seeking and activities that these companies may offer to aspiring employees or interns. Most importantly, since the target audience is a group of international students mainly belonging to ISTC, speakers of KyoTomorrow Academy will conduct the seminar in English. Aside from discussion of job-hunting, the seminar would also be a method to promote activities done by ISTC Office, which promote the university to outside students. The seminar is free of charge.
